Tanta Robina

Today we had our first written and practical tests. The written test went quite well, I think. Knife cuts, well… let's just say that I am slooooooooow. But hey, last week I was slow and messy, today I was slow and accurate. It's an improvement, right? Right? And I got an 80% score on that.

The practical after the knife skills test was cooking risotto, something I should have nailed, but I didn't use enough salt, a common problem with me and exacerbated by the fact that our chef seems to like things rather salty.

After a difficult week followed by a killer weekend, today was actually the first day I felt more in control and less frustrated. I think it all has to do with starting to get a feel for what's going to happen and, of course, having killed myself studying and practicing over the weekend did help some.

Another test tomorrow (my sanitation class) and I haven't even started studying for it. 9:52pm. I better get started.
